Fourty@last!

Fourty at last and feeling great!
What a week it has been...first a call during the Tiara Party from Gary to say Larry (HP Director of Ed) was looking for me...then a whirlwind of calls Monday to arrange an interview....24 hours to prep...and i kicked ass! (and in the midst of everything had to attend a bday dinner for Pam [Greek food ROCKS!]) then an hour + drive to the tiny town of Clinton: the area that always gets hit hardest by snow!!!! YIKES!!! The interview was awesome and within an hour, i had a job!!!! (just 2 days shy of my 1 year anniversary being downsized)....celebrated with Sally over dinner... Thursday---back to Clinton to meet with girl i am replacing...she's an hour late meeting and can only stay an hour....useless....back to London to plan strategy and brainstorm on a place to live---detoured to Goderich....picked up maps...then met Buffy for a quick shop at Sam's club...Friday i connect...finally...with HR and get a 10 month LTO contract...$41000....and benefits....have to have a police check and head off to the police station....$66 and 10 minutes later, i am declared a NON criminal...hooray! then to get my licence renewed....so much to do...
Saturday was my b-day and Sally and Buffy and i are headed for Goderich in search of a new home....they have a BEACH here....complete with boardwalk...i have to get pictures to post....the weather is perfect as we wander "the square" for possible apartments, but it's a holiday weekend so no one is around...love the trendy shops....my search will continue next week! bought a lottery tix too.... my 40th year is off to a great start!!!!

Saluting the King...30 years late...

It's the 30th anniversary of the death of Elvis...i still remember it like it was yesterday...sitting in Mrs. Doyle's livingroom as the news came over the radio...i don't thing they played anything but Elvis tunes all day...she was devistrated...it's the first significant happening in my life where i can recall exactly where i was...i must be getting old...

20 days and counting...

i am so excited...i am beginning the countdown to my 40th birthday and i am really proud of the steps i am taking to get there...most important was my decision on July 15th to join Jenny Craig. WOW! it feels good even to say that...
i joined after stressing about a video interview i had to do...i questioned why i had so much anxiety and i kept coming back to the same answer...it was my WEIGHT! Finally able to face my fears, i did the video interview and saw myself~all 279# of me~and decided i needed to make a change...now i realize it's probably the best gift i could give myself...in the 4 weeks that have followed i have already lost 9.2# and 12 inches...i feel great...i have more energy and my skin looks better...and the food is good...it's expensive so i have worked with a consultant to plan some alternative meals, but i am so thrilled with the feeling of control and accomplishment that i finally have, nothing will stop me from accomplishing my goal.
i have found the chat room on JC really helpful too...lots of support from people who are also struggling...

This is the year i am going to make ME priority #1! i am worth every effort...
